Welcome to Our Home
Do you even know where we live?! This June we moved into a house in Musanze’s Kizungu area. It’s a spacious place that blends family life with the demands of Gorilla Highlands Experts work. The building has five rooms, a large kitchen, and an even bigger living and dining area, its walls decorated with images captured by Marcus Westberg and the rest of our team.
A neatly trimmed lawn welcomes you at the entrance, providing space to relax and play. The backyard features a storage room and a roofed area with a kinda-movable big dining table. We’re also preparing a small garden along the edge of the yard. Located in a peaceful neighbourhood, the house is close to Virunga Valley Academy where the youngest member of the household studies, and not far from some key places in town.
While this is where Miha, Maani, Sasha, Lan and his nanny Vestina reside, we also invite guests passing through to join us for a meal or simply to stop by for a chat. Volunteers heading to Edirisa on Lake Bunyonyi make it their first stop too. While this isn’t our actual office, it welcomes people to connect before embarking on their next adventure.

On 31 December 2024 we’re hosting a gathering for our Gorilla Highlands family, partners and guests. The event kicks off at 2 PM at our house (NM 222 Street, Plot 12; behind Faraja Hotel) with a guided walk of Musanze. Afterwards we’ll return to the house for a barbecue dinner served in the front yard, perfect for a relaxed, festive vibe. Candles and paper ornaments will be adding to the atmosphere. We shall as well have games, a limbo dance, a photo review of the year and other surprises to keep things fun.
